The future looks bleak. The Democrats wish to move the county further and further away from the founders intentions. We are to ignore history. We are to put away fundamental national principles. We are to look away from man's nature. And an ignorant and uninformed electorate will embrace it, brainwashed by the educated elite, the biased media and popular culture.
Man's nature...........what does it have to do with our government? From the Founders....a lot! Conservatives may need to realize we could be fighting a losing battle. Many things have changed, both long term and short term. We should know that individualism has always been under attack by those who would rule man for their own selfish needs.. It is in man's nature to desire power over others. The Founders realized that but it has been largely ignored in modern times. We should realize that freedom and liberty will always be under attack with the claim we are to be given more freedom and liberty if we simply trust in those who want our vote! If we believe our Christian principles (scripture, perhaps), man is self destructive and selfish. The Founders sought to harness that flaw in man and through individualism and capitalism turn man's flawed nature to his own benefit. Man's desire to benefit himself first has been responsible for this nation's rise above the rest of the world through the freedom to seek his own way if he is willing to take the risk. But this view has been largely discouraged in my lifetime (61 years). As per the title of my blog, freedom is impossible without risk. But we now have an electorate wanting no risk and clinging to leaders promising to remove any worry and risk. But they think freedom can still survive. It cannot.
The Republican party no longer stands for those who wish less government. In the absence of statesmanship by our representatives their goal has become to get reelected. Is it possible we will see a majority of citizens who now WANT more government? I think so. Any party seeking power must address that fact thus we see the Republican party move to please those who want government to solve any problem. And expect it, denying their vote to any who preach individualism and self reliance.
Thhose familiar with biblical scripture know the entire basis for Christianity is that man is fallen and will destroy himself if given the opportunity, ignoring the principles of the faith. We are seeing it day by day. Nationally, we will likely move toward socialism, attempting to avoid risk. The demagogues will prevail. If not now, soon. Man, absence of any other "hope" of the afterlife will place his hope in man. In Obama, in Clinton, in....whomever. And the Republicans, seeking power from those with no faith, will chase after the same.
How long it will take for the nation to fall is anyone's guess. History has been kind to America. Even in trying times our leaders and values served us well. The question becomes; Will history find us lacking upon any future crisis? Liberalism has never dominated in a historical crisis. How will it serve us should we choose that way? My guess is, not very well. In a nation of whiners and dependents, liberalism will be served well giving even more power to those responsible for our demise. But the nation will not.
